Hyderabad: The Minister for Labor, Mr Danam Nagender, on Wednesday said that the Congress party would review the reasons behind the defeat of the Congress candidates in the Legislative Council elections of local bodies constituencies.
Speaking at the Assembly Media Point, Mr Nagender said that a complaint would be made to the Congress high command against the Congress MPTCs who resorted to cross-voting in the MLC elections. The PCC has already sought reports from the DCC president concerned on the reasons for the defeat of the Congress candidates in the Legislative Council elections, he added. It was unfortunate that the Congress elected representatives resorted to cross- voting at the time the Congress was getting strengthened in the State, he regretted. There was need to see that the Congressmen at the field level not to lose confidence in the light of the results of the elections, he felt.
The Minister also pointed out that the Congress candidates, where they lost, were defeated in the hands of opponents with margin majority only. Action would also be taken against those who misguided the Congress MPTCs in the elections, he made it clear.
Indirectly referring to the target of the Congress to win six or seven seats in the elections, the Minister said: “the reasons for the defeat of the Congress candidates would be found out and mistakes would be reviewed”. (NSS)
