Hyderabad: Rebel Telugu Desam Party leader from Telangana Harishwar Reddy on Saturday hinted that he was not averse to taking the support of any pro-Telangana party, unlike the TDP’s stated stand of keeping a distance from parties like the TRS and BJP.
Mr Harishwar Reddy, a staunch support of suspended TDP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy, stated that he would seek the support of all-parties for the hunger strike being organized for the cause of a separate state at Indira Parrk on July 3 and 4.
Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Mr Harishwar Reddy stated that likeminded party leaders have been meeting Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao and Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convenor Kodandaram, seeking their support towards the cause of Telangana.
He said these leaders would also seek the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Left party leaders and other pro-Telangana parties to ensure the success of their hunger fast to be undertaken for the cause of separate statehood.
Mr Harishwar Reddy also lambasted TDP Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao, saying that he has no moral right to question Mr Janardhan Reddy. “Errabelli Dayakar Rao is not even in a position to visit his own turf Warangal to pay homage to Telangana ideologue Jayashankar. How can he question Mr Janardhan Reddy”, Mr Harishwar Reddy wondered.
He challenged Mr Dayakar to visit his home constituency if he has any guts.
The Parigi MLA alleged that TDP Telangana leaders have sold themselves to Seemandhra leaders and are organizing ‘Ranabheris’ with the financial assistance from these ‘integrationists.’
Stating that people of Telangana are not supporting the TDP leaders, Mr Harishwar Reddy described Ranabheris as utter flop. “There is no response to the Ranabheris by the people of Telangana,” he claimed.
Responding on the allegation levelled by Mr Dayakar Rao that Mr Janardhan Reddy conspired with YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy and obtained financial help to organize Telangana Nagara, Mr Harishwar Reddy demanded that the T TDP Forum convenor back his allegations with proof.
Condemning the allegations as baseless, the MLA reminded that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy has still not made his stand clear on the separate Telangana statehood issue. “Another thing to be remembered is that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy belongs to teh Seemandhra region,” he said.
Mr Harishwar Reddy demanded that members of the TDP Telangana Forum fix a date for submitting their resignations en masse for the cause of Telangana.
Other leaders from Telangana are ready to submit their resignations to the Assembly Speaker, Mr Harishwar Reddy said.
He made it clear that he and Mr Janardhan Reddy have been struggling for the Telangana state as per the TDP manifesto and had never indulged in any anti-party activities.
