TrafficSecunderabad Cantonment is an important Military station and comprises number of major military installations and training institutes both for officers and soldiers. Presently the Cantonment is fairly porous and the state of its roads do not permit heavy traffic. Over a period of time the traffic density has grown manifolds leading to a number of road accidents. This is also adversely affecting the training activities being undertaken in the cantonment. Coupled with this is the increased threat perception and enhanced security concerns. Cantonment Board is already working out system for improving the traffic management in the Cantonment and Military station areas.

In order to tide over the current traffic problems after due deliberation and evaluation of various routes and availability of alternate routes a decision has been taken that certain routes will be closed. In this connection it has also been ensured that the main routes of entry and exist to all neighbouring Residential colonies have been kept open. The civil traffic is requested to cooperate and abide by the restrictions imposed.

It may be recalled here that honourable Andhra Pradesh High Court has given its verdict in favour of Army and set aside the PIL No 361 of 2012.
