Hyderabad: Stating that the plan of Legislators submitting their resignations to mount pressure on the Centre to take an early decision on Telangana had more or less flopped as it had failed to produce the desired results, MLA from Warangal district Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy on Monday opined that the Congress MLAs should resubmit their resignations to the High Command rather than Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, Mr Venkata Ramana Reddy said “It is now clear the Telangana will not come up with resignations of elected representatives.”
“Except mounting pressure on the High Command, the resignations will not solve the Telangana imbroglio and not serve any purpose,” the Congress MLA stated.
Mr Venkata Ramana Reddy added that the Telangana leaders approach Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad over the decision by Speaker Nadendla Manohar to reject their resignations.
He advised Telangana leaders to move cautiously to achieve the Telangana state and hold consultations with the High Command to find a solution towards achieving their objective.
The MLA further said that he did not suspect any ‘hidden hand’ of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy behind the Speaker’s decision of rejecting the resignations of Telangana MLAs.(INN)
