Hyderabad: Making it clear that he would lodge a complaint against the Deputy Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, if he failed to initiate action against the Agriculture Minister, Mr Y S Vivekananda Reddy, for physically attacking the TDP member, Mr Prabhakar, in the Assembly on Monday, the Telangana TDP MLA, Mr A Revanth Reddy, demanded that the Deputy Speaker release the video footage of the attack incident to the News Channels.
Alleging that the Deputy Speaker was dancing to the tunes of the Seemandhra leaders in the House and was not releasing the video footage whereas the same Deputy Speaker released video footage of the Governor’s budget speech, Mr Revanth Reddy demanded that the Chair suspend Mr Vivekananda Reddy and impose a ban by not allowing him to attend both Houses till 2014.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Monday, Mr Revanth Reddy asked the Deputy Speaker whether he wants to remain in the history as a Deputy Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, by initiating action against the Agriculture Minister or the son of the former chief minister, Mr Nadendla Bhaskara Rao.
Referring to the former MLA, Mr Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy, who had made objectionable comments against the Speaker, Mr Revanth Reddy said that the then Speaker had suspended the member for six months; but the present Deputy Speaker was not taking any action against the erring minister.
Alleging that the Deputy Speaker has failed to protect respect of the House, he said that the Deputy Speaker has been showing partiality towards Telangana members. He also demanded that Mr Manohar release the video footage immediately. He said that he would consider the possibility of lodging a complaint against the Deputy Speaker. He also made it clear that he would write to the Deputy Speaker on the issue. (NSS)
