Hyderabad: The former chief minister and senior Congress leader, Mr K Rosaiah, on Friday opened his heart on the pathetic situation of the ruling party in the State.

Mr Rosaiah, who motored down to Gandhi Bhavan to participate in the Nehru death anniversary celebrations, said that he had already written to the party president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, in this regard. Mr Rosaiah strongly felt that the Congress party got weakened after Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, deserted the party and floated his own. However, he observed that the set-back to the Congress party was only temporary.

Mr Rosaiah suggested to the party functionaries to analyse the reasons for the ruling party’s debacle by a huge majority in the recent Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly by-elections. He advised the party leaders to deeply study as to why the people remained dissatisfied with the Congress. He also felt that the situation cannot be improved with the change of the Chief Minister.

Mr Rosaiah said that the AICC leader in charge of State party affairs, Mr Gulam Nabi Azad, asked him to set right things. (NSS)
