Hyderabad: The Central Crime Station here on Tuesday registered a case against Hasan Ali, who was allegedly involved in theft of several valuable items in the Salar Jung Museum and an accused in the black money racket.
According to the information, the Mumbai Enforcement Directorate police have come to a conclusion that Hasan Ali was involved in the theft of valuable articles from the Salar Jung Museum and smuggled them out of the country. They alerted the Hyderabad CCS in this regard. The Mumbai police told their counterparts in Hyderabad that Hasan Ali was involved in the lifting of valuable articles from the Museum between 1995 and 2000. With this, the CCS Hyderabad registered a case against Hasan Ali.
Ruling out the possibility of Hasan Ali alone lifting the articles from the Museum, the sleuths are suspecting complicity of the then Museum officials in the theft. There was also no clarity as how many articles were stolen from the Museum, said the CCS Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Satyanarayana.
