Warangal: Backward Class Welfare Minister Basavaraj Saraiah on Tuesday expressed satisfaction over the talks held earlier in the day between Telangana Congress Steering Committee leaders and Congress In-Charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad in New Delhi over the separate statehood demand.
Talking to media persons here, Mr Saraiah expressed confidence the Congress High Command would find a solution to contentious issue of bifurcation of the state soon.
He revealed that Mr Azad had given a patient hearing to Telangana Congress leaders and elicited the opinions of all the leaders who called on him on the issue.
Responding on Speaker Nadendla Manohar decision of rejecting resignation of Telangana elected representatives, the Minister stated the Legislators would seek legal opinion by consulting experts.
He said the Telangana congress leaders would be celebrating Telangana flag hoisting festival in all villages. The festival will show the Congress leaders’ commitment towards the formation of Telangana state, the Minister said.
He called upon all leaders to make concerted efforts towards the formation of state in Gandhian way without resorting to violence, adding that the formation of a new state was possible with continuous agitation.(INN)
