SC, ST MLAs to fight for their share in ‘Mine, Wine & Industries’

Hyderabad: The Congress MLAs of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of the State have demanded that they want their due share in ‘Mine’, ‘Wine’ and ‘Industries’.

About 25 SC and ST MLAs, most of them from Seemandhra region, have discussed about their issues here at the State Assembly Committee Hall on Wednesday. Later speaking to the media, Assembly Deputy Speaker Mr Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Primary Education Minister Dr Sake Shailajanath have said that they will put their full efforts to legitimize the SC and ST Sub-Plans and to see the funds released under these plans were spent effectively in the State. The State government was transferring the SC and ST Sub-Plans funds to other schemes without spending on the target beneficiaries.

They said that the meeting has decided to fight on the problems of the SC and ST reserved constituencies unitedly. They said that they will visit the birth places of Dr BR Ambedkar, Babu Jagjeevan Ram, Indira Gandhi, Jyothirao Phule, Komuram Bheem, who had worked for the uplift of the SCs and STs.

When asked about the persons enjoying the mining rights in beenami name of SCs and STs, they said that they will fight against all ills going on in the name of SCs and STs in the State.

Ministers Dr S Shailajanath, Mr P Balaraju, Mr P Vishwarup, Deputy Speaker Mr Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Government Whip Mr Kondru Murali, Dr Suresh, Mr BN Vijay Kumar, Dr Abraham, Ms Kunja Sathyavathi and others participated in the meeting.

Station Ghanpur MLA Dr T Rajaiah, who came to the CLP office, has said that he boycotted the meeting. Nakerekal MLA Mr Chirumarthi Lingaiah, Vardhannaepet MLA Mr Sridhar also stayed away from the meeting though they were in the Assembly premises.
