Hyderabad: The South Central Railway authorities have made elaborate security arrangements in view of the agitation. Apart from canceling some trains, they have rescheduled several others. Pilot engines are being run for trains that are being run.

The South Central Railway General Manager has met the DGP and discussed with him about the security arrangements. The Intelligence chief, Mr Mahender Reddy, and the Railway Police IG, Mr Mohan, and other senior police officials participated in the meeting.

The SCR spokesperson, Ms Chanddrik Rai, has stated that patrolling on the tracks between Secunderabad-Kazipet, Kazipet-Kagaznagar and several other sections was being organized. Patrolling was jointly done by the Railway Protection Force and the State police. Two companies of additional forces were put into action to take steps to prevent damage to railway properties or harm to passengers.

She said that instructions were given to authorities to act stern if necessary as stopping trains was a serious offence. She has, however, appealed to passengers to travel only if it was necessary on Tuesday. (NSS)
