Hyderabad: The State government has accorded permission to the State Media and Broadcasting Company Private Limited to screen special shows between 10 am and 1 pm in all cinema theatres under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits for one year.
According to a GO issued by the government on Saturday, the Convener, Andhra Pradesh Media & Broadcasting Company Private Limited has informed the government that the organization was keen on conducting campaign for three years on “Happy India–Happy Hyderabad” to highlight environmental and social issues in the State. Though the conduct of such campaigns would involve heavy expenditure, they would not seek government grants for the purpose and requested only permission for screening of special shows for a noble cause of spreading social awareness.
The Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh State Film Television & Theatre Development Corporation Limited, also recommended that the request of the Andhra Pradesh Media Foundation to raise funds by organizing special film shows and premier shows of new films be considered with the consent of the film maker, distributor subject to adhering to the timings permitted to the theatres.
Accordingly, the government permitted the A.P. Media and Broadcasting Company Private Limited to screen the shows. The Police Commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad were directed to accord permission to the Convener, Andhra Pradesh Media Broadcasting Private Limited, Hyderabad, to screen special shows in addition to the permitted shows in all the theatres located under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Limits.
