Scribes protest against poor arrangements

Hyderabad: The reckless attitude of the officials concerned has created commotion at programme of SSC results release in the Directorate of Government Examinations.

The mediapersons registered their protest before the Minister for Secondary Education, Mr Parthasarathi, who released the results. They alleged that a person was seen supplying CDs of results to some persons before they were supplied to the journalists, who were covering the programme.

The officials have failed to make proper arrangements to supply the pockets containing the CD and press release of the results to mediapersons. They complained that the officials allowed the representatives of websites and others to the programme creating trouble to mediapersons. They even occupied the seats allotted for journalists.

Earlier, an employee was appointed to each row of media persons to supply pockets of the results. But, this arrangement was not made for this year for the reasons best known to the authorities concerned.

The trouble started when the non-journalist persons forcibly grabbed the pockets from the hands of the employees, who came to supply them to the media. With this, majority of mediapersons did not get the result copies and CDs.

Reacting to the complaint of mediapersons, the Minister intervened and instructed the police inspector, who was on duty, to control the group and see that copies are supplied to mediapersons. (NSS)
