Hyderabad, Feb.8 (NSS): Advising the former MP from Kadapa, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, to refrain from criticizing Ms Sonia Gandhi, the Handlooms and Textiles Minister, Dr P. Shankar Rao, said that the former would know his political strength when he floats his party in the name of his grand father rather than Dr YSR’s name.

Speaking to the media at CLP office here on Tuesday, Dr Shankar Rao said that Mr Jagan will have a bright future if he stopped his childish acts. He opined that Mr Jagan has good knowledge on issues, but the problem was his ‘ego’. He said that late Dr YSR had grown into a towering leader in the party step by step by obeying the high command. He also warned Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy that the people of the State would treat him like an ‘insect’ if he continued to criticize the Congress supremo.

Describing Mr Jagan as a small business man, Dr Shankar Rao said that Mr Jagan’s family developed economically with the blessings of Congress party only. He also said that the Congress party stormed back to power four times when a Telanganite was the PCC president.

Welcoming Mr Chiranjeevi into the party-fold, Dr Shankar Rao said that the Congress cadre need not worry about their opportunities in the party. He pointed out that he got ministership after a long time though he was No. 2 in the party till 2004.

Advising the TRS Chief, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao, not to go on agitation path on problems of weavers, the minister said the government has already released Rs 312 crores and distributed Rs 209 crores to the weavers. He said the Congress government was alive to solve the problems of the people and there was no need for the Opposition leaders to worry about the welfare of the people. (NSS)
