Hyderabad: The ongoing Telangana movement would lead to a disaster if the AICC Chief, Ms Sonia Gandhi, failed to honour her assurance, warned the resigned APSRTC Chairman, Mr M Sathyanarayana Rao. He said that she had promised to carve out separate Telangana State and therefore he kept silent all these days. He also suggested to the Telangana Congress Monitoring Group (TCMG) leaders to prepare a plan to make Ms Sonia Gandhi understand the situation clearly by going Delhi.
Addressing the review meeting called ‘Telangana Crisis-A Review”, organized by a TCMG leader at Vasavi Kalyana Mandapam at Khairatabad here on Thursday, Mr Sathyanarayana Rao has said that Ms Sonia Gandhi was not a leader who goes back on her word. But the leaders, who were surrounding her were misguiding her on the Telangana issue, he said, adding that he did not understand why she believed in them. It was wrong on the part of Ms Sonia Gandhi holding back the decision announced on December 9, 2009 on Telangana, he said. He said that she was not moving forward on the advice of her coterie. It appears that Ms Sonia Gandhi has failed to fulfill her word on Telangana, he said, adding that it would lead to a great disaster in the State.
He said that there was no need to prepare the people to fight for Telangana as was done in 1969 and the people including women, men and children were very much aware of Telangana issue. He said that the Telangana slogan went into every residence in the Telangana region and nobody has the power to stop the movement.
Another senior leader, Mr P Narsa Reddy alleged that the former Chief Ministers, Mr Chandrbabu Naidu and late Dr YSR looted the Telangana as no other Chief Minister looted. He said that some of the leaders in a media workshop held in Delhi spoke like 10 blind men locating an elephant. “They don’t know about Telangana, but they spoke about Telangana as they wished”, he bemoaned. He also said that the leaders like Mr Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and Mr Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, who were contractors of Pranahitha-Chevella project, were speaking against Telangana issue as they wish. He alleged that the contractors-cum-politicians were encouraging Seemandhra leaders to loot Telangana region further.
Another senior leader, Mr Palvai Goverdhan Reddy, said that the Telangana leaders were only asking for Telangana and not Andhra region’s water and others resources. Urging the TDP Chief, Mr Chandrababu Naidu, to cooperate in solving the Telangana issue, Mr G Niranjan has said that the issue would have solved in 2009 only if then Chief Minister, Mr K Rosaiah and the leader of Opposition, Mr Chandrababu Naidu worked with political will.
The Jubilee Hills MLA, Mr P Vishnuvardhan Reddy, who was the first MLA to resign for Telangana, said there were 35 per cent Andhra settlers in his constituency and assured them that he would not keep quiet if something happened to them. He said the settlers could continue their industries and cinema field as was going on in Mubmai. He said that the Gujaratis were in top in doing business in Mumbai.
Accusing the high command leaders for going to Mr Chiranjeevi’s residence first after coming to Hyderabad, he said that it was not correct on the part of Central leaders to go to Mr Chiranjeevi’s residence ignoring the Congress leaders.
