Speaker bound to accept resignations: Ajit Singh

Hyderabad: Describing the rejection of the resignations of the MLAs of the Telangana region without consulting them by the Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, as undemocratic, the Rashtriya Lok Dal Chief, Mr Ajit Singh, recalled the Madhya Pradesh High Court verdict regarding the then MLA, Mr Ram Vallabh’s case. He said that the Madhya Pradesh High Court had ruled that resignations should be accepted if the letter had signature of the member concerned though the letter may not be in his own hand writing.

Addressing the media here on Wednesday along with the freedom fighter, Acharya Konda Laxman Bapuji, the TDP rebel MLAs, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Mr S Venugopala Chary, Mr Harishwar Reddy, Mr Jogu Ramanna and MLCs, Mr Chukka Ramaiah, Mr Dileep Kumar and members of Telangana Rashtra Sadhana Movement Coordination Committee, Prof. Keshav Rao Jadav and Ms Vimala, Mr Ajit Singh made it clear that nowhere it was possible to get consensus on division of a State.
