Speaker serves privilege notices to rebel TD MLAs

Hyderabad: The Assembly Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, has served breach of privilege notices to the rebel TDP legislators, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Mr Harishwar Reddy, for complaining at the Saifabad police station that he was missing when he was on foreign tour.

It may be mentioned here that the two rebel TDP MLAs had complained to the Saifabad Police Station that Mr Manohar was missing and pasted the same on the wall of the police station. Expressing displeasure over their action, the Speaker issued the notice to the duo and sought explanation within one week.

It was learnt that the Speaker expressed displeasure over the action of the two MLAs. The members should respect the Speaker. If such an action was resorted to by non-members, arrest warrants would have been issued, it is learnt.

The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Mr A K Khan, and the officials of Protocol also met the Speaker to give an explanation on the incident of protocol violation on Independence Day.

The police had stopped the vehicles of the Assembly Speaker and Council Chairman while the DGP’s vehicle was rushing towards the Parade ground. The Speaker ordered him not to give scope for reoccurrence of such incidents in the future.
