Stage set for axing Jagan group MLAs

Hyderabad: Stage is now set to disqualify the Congress MLAs supporting the YSR Congress leader, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, as the Congress leadership has taken a firm decision to discipline those with dual loyalties.

Notices were already issued to the former minister, Ms Konda Surekha, Mr Adinarayana Reddy and two others who have been not only supporting Mr Jagan, but also have been speaking on his and his party’s behalf. According to the information, notices would be served on some more MLAs.

Interestingly, it is learnt that the process of disqualification would first start with Mr Nallapureddy Prasannakumar Reddy, TDP rebel, who has been openly supporting Mr Jagan. Notice was already served on him and he has also submitted his explanation to the notice, to the Speaker.

Arguments on the case would be started shortly, it is learnt. Once this process was completed and Mr Prasanna Kumar Reddy was disqualified, cases of the Congress rebels would be taken up. It is learnt that the Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, has sent fresh notices to the TDP rebel and his party men through a special messenger. According to the notice, the TDP should put forth its argument on the disqualification petition on June 27. The party would have to prove that Mr Prasanna Kumar Reddy has violated party discipline and indulged in anti-party activities. Mr Prasanna Kumar Reddy would be given an opportunity to prove that he had not indulged in anti-party activities when he has audience with the Speaker on June 28.

After going through the arguments of both the sides, the Speaker would take his decision. It is learnt that the Speaker would immediately take up the petitions on Ms Konda Surekha, Mr Ravi Narayana Reddy and Mr Srikant Reddy. He would also take up the petitions against the TDP MLA, Mr Bala Nagi Reddy and the PRP member, Ms Sobha Nagi Reddy.
