Stalemate on resignation by Telangana-MPs continues

The Congress high command is probably going to take a decision on the resignation of Telangana Congress MPs after negotiations with party leaders belonging to two other regions of the state is complete.

Party sources said that in view of the adamant stand taken by the T Congress MPs on their resignations, the party high command is of the opinion that any discussions with the T Congress MPs now is undesirable and only entrusted the matter to the PCC chief, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, who reached Delhi on Tuesday evening.

Sources said that in case the MPs attend the House and press for acceptance of their resignations and create a scene, only then would ‘action’ be taken.

“It appears, disturbances in the House will continue for some more days. So we have no worry about the MPs resignations now, we think Lok Sabha members resignations will either be rejected or kept pending. We will take up the issue as and when it is necessary,” said a source in the AICC.Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest that the AICC leadership is serious about the attitude of the Rajya Sabha member, Dr K. Kesava Rao, who had been instrumental in getting the MPs to quit. Sources said it may not be a surprise if the resignation of Mr Kesava Rao will be accepted in a few days.

Interestingly Mr Kesava Rao who addressed a press meet in Delhi on Tuesday evening blamed the AICC general secretary, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, for convening meetings of T MPs without any meaning. “They are not at all useful. It is all drama. Mr Azad is not sincere in finding solution.” Deccan Chronicle
