New Delhi: The TDP Chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has warned the government that his party would launch a State-wide agitation if the newly imposed four per cent VAT was not immediately withdrawn.
In a statement here on Wednesday, the former chief minister said both the traders and consumers were incurring losses due to the new tax. He said nowhere else in the country the taxes were as high as in Andhra Pradesh. He has criticized the government for not responding to the agitation of traders for the past 20 days for removal of the taxes on sugar and textiles. He said the government should immediately take action to withdraw the taxes.
