Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday greeted the people of Andhra Pradesh on the 65th Independence Day.
In an Independence Day message to the people of the State, the Chief Minister said “Today is certainly the happiest day in the life of every Indian. A day of happiness and pride for us. We are proud of our freedom. We are proud of our country. We are proud of our democracy. We are proud of our cherished values and ideals. But we should also remember that it has taken the sacrifices of lakhs of Indians to bring us the freedom and where we are today. Our well being and progress have been built upon the foundation of the hard work and sacrifices of our freedom fighters, the brave jawans of our armed forces, our farmers, our workers and our scientists”.
The Chief Minister said on the Independence Day we remember all those martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom and security of our country. The best way of paying homage to those brave sons of our country will be to resolve today that we will always stay committed to strengthening the unity and integrity of our nation. Let us all together take a vow that we will spare no effort to take India to greater heights.
The Chief Minister said the youth should draw inspiration from the great leaders of our freedom movement and dedicate themselves in the noble task of nation building. “Let us pledge to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of our nation and unite to steer India to greater heights,” the Chief Minister added.
The Chief Minister said while paying tributes to the freedom fighters, who dared the British government’s bullets and gallows, we should ensure that the people of the country continue to enjoy the benefits of the Independence.
