Hyderabad: The Bala Bharathi Sikshana Samithi is conducting a “Total Personality Development Residential Summer Training programme” for youth and children at Ravirala village, near Research Centre Imarat, near Pahadi Shareef, here from April 24.
The camp dates were as follows: for Youth (15 years and above) from April 24 to May 1; for children (between 8 and 11 years) from May 1 to May 14 and for children (between 11 and 15 years) from May 15 to May 29.
Speaking to the media here on Friday, the founder-director, Prof. G Venkat Reddy said that the purpose of this summer camp, which has been organized under the aegis of the Vishwa Samskruthi Vidya Samsthan over the last 35 years, is to invoke the hidden potentialities among the children through value based education that includes Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, eating, drinking, thinking and sleeping habits and to revive the past glory of the country. “As part of the syllabus, the Bhagwadgita, the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, asanas, Surya namaskar and ethical conduct will be taught to the children”, he added.
Prof. Venkat Reddy said that maladies like fear, temptation and lethargy would be vanished and human values and right conduct would be inculcated among the children during the 15-day training camp. Lamenting that still we have not been able to formulate our own education policy even 60 years after attaining the independence, he attributed the prevalence of various social maladies and the regressive path being treaded by our country to the ruination of the ancient Gurukul education system.
Other members of the Samithi, Dr Rama Devi and an expert in Vedic Mathematics, Prof. Ram, were also present. (NSS)
