Hyderabad, February 5: A “Telangana Advocates’ Samarabheri” will be organised under the aegis of the “Telangana Lawyers’ Forum for Social Justice” at Ravindra Bharati here on February 19 at 12.30 pm.
Addressing the media after releasing a “poster” on “Samarabheri” along with the Arunodaya Association president, Ms Vimalakka, here on Saturday, the Nizamabad MP, Mr Madhu Yashki Goud, said that the Telangana lawyers should take forward the movement in a democratic way for achieving the Telangana State. He also said that the demand for Telangana State was democratic and the burning desire of the people of the region. It should be considered while taking a decision on it, but not the opinion of the majority section which was compact of both the Coastal Andhra and the Rayalaseema regions, he observed.
Mr Goud lamented that some leaders of Telangana region, who have vested interests, were conniving with the affluent sections from the Seemandhra region and sabotaging the genuine decades-old Telangana movement. He also alleged that the remarks of Telangana leaders were at variance when they were in power and out of power. He advised the Minister for Infrastructure, Mr. Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, to stick to a single stand. He also felt that “Egypt like situation” would erupt in the region if Telangana State was not conceded due to political crisis.
When asked about the “Rachchabanda” programme of the Chief Minister, Mr Goud criticised that several crores of public money was being squandered for nothing. (NSS)
