Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party on Thursday put the state government on notice, saying that there would be no let up in the principal opposition party’s agitations to highlight the problems faced by the people, right till the end of the year.
Senior Telugu Desam Party leader K Yerrannaidu on Thursday told media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan that the party has decided to continue its agitations on people’s problems across the state right through the year.
Speaking after emerging from a party politburo meeting, the senior TDP leader disclosed that it was decided to keep the ruling Congress on the back foot by highlighting the people’s problems across the state, at least till the end of the year.
The politburo also decided to make the agitations more effective by carrying out proper ground work. As part of these agitations, the TDP would highlight government’s indifferent attitude towards farmers’ issues and lax attitude of officials in helping the farmers.
Mr Yerrannaidu stated that the party would conduct intense discussions at gram, village, mandal and district levels to elicit information from the people over their problems and to create awareness among the citizen on the party’s stand on these issues.
Besides this, the TDP politburo also unanimously decided on conducting agitation on farmers’ problems on June 23 and June 24 across the state.
The senior leader also revealed that the party would also organise agitation in July on scholarships and the fee reimbursement and students’ problems.
“We will organise agitations on public issues as part of bringing party closer to people,” Mr Yerrannaidu warned.
He said the meeting discussed the suggestions given by senior leaders in Mahanadu and Medho Madana Sadasu thoroughly and took the decisions.(INN)
