Hyderabad: The Civil Supplies Minister, Mr D Sridhar Babu, has said that all sections of the society got priority in the State Cabinet and all the 39 portfolios were important. He asserted that the Minister for Infrastructure and Investment, Mr Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, was striving for strengthening the party and was not a covert of anybody.
Speaking to the media at CLP office here on Wednesday, Mr Sridhar Babu said that all the ministers were working for the sake of the party and it was not uncommon for political leaders to change loyalties but no one can affect the Congress party. He said that the induction of the leaders in the Cabinet was prerogative of the Chief Minister.
Refuting the charges of the TDP Chief, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, regarding farmers’ issues, the minister said that it was not proper for Mr Naidu to belittle the State government’s efforts to extend help to the farming community. The State government would construct more godowns before the next Kharif or Rabhi season.
Mr Sridhar Babu alleged that Mr Naidu was the main reason for the plight of the farmers. He said that he would visit the markets across the State to have first hand information about the problems of the farmers. He said that the government was firm on initiating action against the erring rice millers. (NSS)
