TDP developed Hyderabad and Telangana: Babu

Hyderabad: Claiming that the Telugu Desam Party has developed the Telangana region, including Hyderabad, along with other backward areas in the state, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has declared that he is ready for a debate on it. He has also made it clear that the TDP T leaders would neither work with the Congress nor the TRS on the T issue.

“Till now I did not talk much on the issue (Telangana), now I am prepared for a debate on it,” Naidu told reporters here today.

For the Congress, the TRS and the BJP, attacking the TDP and deriving the maximum political mileage out of it was the top priority, he alleged. “The TDP is strong in the state and that is the reason why the TRS and the BJP are resorting to physical attacks on TDP leaders, especially those belonging to weaker sections,” Naidu said.

BJP leader Advani once said that Hyderabad was in Telangana and there was no need for a separate state, Naidu claimed, adding, “Advani is now throwing the blame on the TDP (for noncreation of a T state).”

Asked whether TDP leaders too would join the Tfight cutting across party lines, Naidu said when TRS activists, holding party flags, were attacking TDP leaders, why would the TDP work with them.

“Our leaders will not work either with the Congress or the TRS on the Tissue,” Naidu declared.

The Telangana Political JAC was not involved in the attacks on the TDP, he said. Ridiculing the display of placards for United AP by the Congress Seemandhra MLAs in the Assembly today, Naidu said, “It is the ruling Congress which has to decide on a T state but the Congress leaders speak for both Telangana and United AP at the same time.”

The TDP MLAs, on the other hand, abided by the party discipline, he pointed out.
