Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party set in motion the process of introducing a Not Trust Vote against the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government with a delegation meeting, Secretary to State Legislature S Raja Sadaram to notify him about the party’s decision.
Talking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office after meeting Mr Sadaram, senior party leader and Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao stated that the TDP would accept the support of any other party which opts to vote in favour of the No Confidence Motion against the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
Mr Dayakar Rao stated that the TDP has taken the decision to introduce the No Trust Motion as the government has totally failed on all fronts, particularly in addressing farmers’ issues.
He said the party has decided to take the support of other parties over the No Trust Motion against the government.
The TDP leader also stated that the delegation of party MLAs had gone to meet Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to issue notice about the party’s decision but had to be satisfied with meeting Mr Sadaram as the Deputy Speaker was not present in his chambers.
Mr Dayakar Rao was accompanied by Banda Venkateswara Rao, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Bojjala Gopalakrishna and other leaders.
The Assembly Secretary would notify the Speaker, or in this case the Deputy Speaker, about the TDP’s notice. The Speaker would then notify the ruling party about the No Confidence Motion and set a date when the voting would take place.
According to sources, Mr Manohar is most likely to ask the government to face the No Trust vote on Sunday, the concluding day of the special two-day Session.
The Session has been called by the government to elect the news speaker after the former Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy took over as the Chief Minister.(INN)
