Hyderabad: Hailing the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s green signal to the State Elections Commission to go ahead with elections to the Local Bodies, Telugu Desam Party MLC and Sarpanches Sangham president Yelamanchili Babu Rajendra Prasad on Tuesday claimed that the TDP would win 80 per cent of the seats it contests.
Mr Rajendra Prasad told media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan that the High Court, by deciding not to interfere in the question of quotas, had retained the reservations implemented during the Telugu Desam Party’s rule.
The MLC further said that the TDP is committed to the welfare of poor and backward and is ready to fight for their problems anytime.
He asked the party cadre to gear up for the elections and sink any existing differences among themselves.
Hailing the High Court’s ruling, senior party leader Somireddy Chandra Mohan expressed confidence that the party would win the Local Body elections as it has a strong base in the constituencies.(INN)
