TDP leader threatens to quit party, politics

Hyderabad: Internal rumblings in the Telugu Desam Party came to the fore once again on Tuesday with senior leader and Aler MLA Motkupalli Narasimhulu announcing his intention to quit the party and politics.

He told mediapersons that some leaders belonging to the Telangana region are creating a wedge between him and party president N Chandrababu Naidu and trying to eliminate him politically.

“I want to quit politics altogether. Some leaders in the party are deliberately trying to eliminate me politically,” said Narasimhulu, who is also the deputy leader of the party in the assembly. Narasimhulu pulled out of the bus tour being undertaken by the Telangana Forum of the TDP in the region.

According to TDP sources, Narasimhulu is unhappy over being sidelined both by Naidu and his fellow party MLAs from the region, and that the latest trigger was that he was ignored in the chartering of the bus yatra route by the other MLAs. Narasimhulu, however, is yet to submit his resignation from the party to Naidu. TOI
