New Delhi: The TDP MPs, Mr Nama Nageswara Rao and Mr Ramesh Rathod, submitted their resignations to the Lok Sabha Speaker, Ms Meera Kumar, on Tuesday.

With this, the number of MPs, who had resigned for Telangana has gone up to 14.

Talking to the media later, Mr Nama Nageswara Rao has alleged that the Congress government at the Centre was cheating the people of Telangana. He said they have explained to the Speaker about the deceitful attitude of the government to the Speaker. The Speaker had assured to look into the matter.

Mr Nageswara Rao has alleged that the present state was the doing of the unscrupulous Congress party. He said the ruling party was observing a dual policy to hoodwink the people. He also said that it was wrong on the part of the TRS and the Congress to politicize a delicate issue like the Telangana statehood agitation. He said that the Union Home Minister, Mr Chidambaram, was once again talking about an all-party meeting as the government lacked sincerity.

The TDP leader has asked why the Union Minister, Mr S Jaipal Reddy, who also hails from the Telangana region had so far not resigned. Asserting that the TDP was committed to Telangana from the beginning, he has urged the Centre to hasten the process of creating Telangana State.
