While the rebel MLAs of the TDP are going towards TRS, Venugopalachary, MLA of Mudhol in Adilabad district, appears to be inclined to join the Congress.
Venugopalachary has met MLC and Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s close associate Ranga Reddy on Monday. When asked about it, he said he had not made up his mind and would think about his future and come to a decision. However, rumors were doing the rounds that he has already decided to join the Congress.
Venugopalachary was elected to the Assembly as the TDP candidate in 2009. He has been keeping himself away from the party activities as a protest against Chandrababu Naidu not taking a firm decision on Telangana issue. He was in the group of another rebel MLA Nagam Janardana Reddy. When Jogu Ramanna and Hariswara Reddy of that group joined the TDP, Venugopalachary did not follow them.
After Nagam won as an independent with TRS support, there were speculations about his future plans. There were reports that he would be joining the TRS or BJP. He has said that if the Congress conceded Telangana, he would join that party. It was at that time that another senior politician of Adilabad district, Indra Karan Reddy chose to hop into the YSR Congress. With this development, Venugopalachary chose to join the Congress, say sources.(NSS)
