Hyderabad: Advising Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to fill the four lack vacancies instead of concentrating on the ‘Yuva Kiranulu,’ Telugu Desam Party politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Tuesday criticised both Central and State government for their failure in eradicating poverty in the country.
Mr Ramakrishnudu however did not elaborate on how the governments could eradicate poverty without launching employment generation schemes such as the ‘Yuva Kiranalu’.
The Yuva Kiranulu scheme would see the state government provide employment to about 15 lakh youth after honing their skills.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, the TDP politburo member alleged that the government schemes for the upliftment of the poor have failed to reach the genuine beneficiaries.
“The loopholes in delivery mechanism of schemes have failed to eradicate poverty,” Mr Ramakrishnudu said, added the demand for increased effort in plugging the loopholes in the schemes.
The TDP politburo member said that his party would create awareness on Cash Transfer Scheme among people, which would plug loopholes in the schemes.
“The Cash Transfer Scheme would go a long way in plugging the loopholes in the delivery mechanisms. The TDP would push for the implementation of the Cash Transfer Scheme at the National level to reduce economic inequalities,” Mr Ramakrishnudu said.
Pointing to the Centre ordering a probe into the activities of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and the state government’s notice to the members of the Satya Sai Central Trust, the TDP leader wondered why the irregularities conducted by Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy are overlooked.
He demanded that a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s illegal properties.
Mr Ramakrishnudu alleged that the state government and Congress president Sonia Gandhi are not responding against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy as they have a secret understanding.(INN)
