Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party MLAs from Telangana region would resubmit their resignations to Speaker Nadendla Manohar once he returns from London.

TDP Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Monday told media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office that this decision was taken unanimously by the Forum members.

“We took a decision to personally hand over our resignations to the Speaker as there is no one in his office at present. We will wait for his return from London,” Mr Dayakar Rao said.

Condemning Mr Manohar’s ‘unilateral’ decision of rejecting the resignations, Mr Dayakar Rao said the Speaker’s decision has brought disrepute to his chair and post.

Stating the Speaker has no moral right to continue in his post, the TDP Telangana leader stated that Mr Manohar would become a `Traitor of Telangana’ in the minds of the people of the region for dashing their aspirations of a separate state.

Mr Dayakar Rao also revealed that the Forum members have appointed a four-member committee with R Chandrasekhar Reddy, L Ramana, G Govardhan and G Nagesh, which would explore legal options and seek advice from legal luminaries on the resignations.

Responding on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy statement that he would put behind bars those MLAs who question the Speaker decision, the TDP leader said the Chief Minister was still living in the past and was dreaming that he was still the Speaker.

He appealed to Congress leaders to resign from their posts on the same day of Forum members and not to fall in the trap of Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Another MLA Motkupalli Narasimhulu alleged that Speaker Nadendla Manohar rejected the resignations of Telangana leaders bowing to the pressure mounted by the Centre.

He asked Congress leaders from the region not to bow down to pressure tactics and stand by to their resignations. “Only through creating Constitutional crisis, can the Telangana state be achieved,” Mr Narasimhulu stated.(INN)
