Hyderabad, Feb.10 (NSS): The Democratic Teachers Federation (DTF) and Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) have demanded action against Kurnool Deputy Education Officer (Dy.EO), Mr Muvva Ramalingam on the charges of corruption and irregularities.
A delegation led by DTF State President, Mr K Venugopal and APTF president, Mr K Subba Reddy on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary to the Government, Mr S V Prasad in the Secretariat here.
In the memorandum, Mr K Venugopal and Mr K Subba Reddy reminded that though 50 days were completed after inquiry into the corruption and irregularities committed by Kurnool DyEO, no action was taken against him. The Director of School Education has already submitted inquiry report on December 24, 2010 to the State Government. They pointed out that officers should be either transferred or suspended as a primary action, after receiving inquiry report and corruption was proved. Unfortunately, no action was initiated against the DyEO till now, they added.
“Moreover, the Kurnool DyEO was harassing the teachers and leaders of teachers unions who complained against him. The delay in taking action against him by the government has given scope for it”, they deplored.
They said that the Chief Secretary has assured to examine the matter and take action against the errant DyEO. (NSS)
