Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress senior leaders have demanded the State government to postpone the SI recruitment examination till the ‘Free Zone’ issue was resolved. They also demanded the State government to initiate arrangements for the on-going Manjeera Pushkaralu immediately.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Tuesday, Mr K R Amos, Mr Palvai Govardhan Reddy and Mr B Kamalakar Rao have opined that it was not good for the State government to conduct the SI recruitment examination at this juncture.
Mr Amos has asked the ministers from Telangana region to persuade the State government to respond on the Manjeera Pushkaralu immediately, and make arrangements to the devotees. He said that the government had sanctioned crores of rupees for Krishna and Godavari River Pushkaralu, but showing negligent attitude towards Manjeera River Pushkaralu.
He alleged that the successive governments have diverted the Manjeera water to Hyderabad City at the cost of Medak district farmers, but it was not conducting Manjeera Pushkaralu officially.
Mr Govardhan Reddy said that the State Assembly had passed a resolution unanimously for the removal of 14 (F) clause relating to free Zone issue and sent it to the Government of India. But the Andhra rulers were once again trying to conduct the SI recruitment examination, he bemoaned.
Finding fault with the Vijayawada MP Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal’s remarks on ‘Free Zone’ issue, Mr Govardhan Reddy alleged that Andhra leaders like Mr Rajagopal were looting the Telangana region, but not doing any good to the Telangana people. He warned the State government that the people would not tolerate if it conducted the examination without resolving the ‘Free Zone’ issue.
He alleged that the State government was silent on Krishna phase III drinking water project and it was not releasing single rupee for it, to benefit the Andhra region.
He alleged that the State government was showing indifferent attitude towards Telangana and it was not conducting Manjeera Pushkaralu and proving itself as ‘Andhra government’. He demanded the MPs, MLAs and Ministers of Telangana to respond immediately on Manjeera Pushkaralu issue. Other wise people would see the matter in a different way, he added. (NSS)
