Hyderabad: Telangana Steering Committee convener K Kesava Rao on Monday stated that Telangana Congress leaders would observe en masse hunger fasts from gram level to district level on July 20.
Addressing the meeting convened at Vanga Anantha Reddy Function Hall in Karmanghat, K Kesava Rao said that the en masse hunger fasts would be observed to mount pressure on the high command towards achieving the separate Telangana state.
He said the `Telangana Flag Festival’ would be observed on July 26 by hoisting flag at all villages to create awareness among villagers.
He said that the Telangana congress leaders are ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of separate statehood. “We will not tolerate if anybody makes comments hurting Telangana people’s sentiments and warned of serious consequences,” he said.
He also condemned Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad comments that State Assembly has to pass a unanimous resolution for the formation of Telangana.
He demanded apology from Ghulam Nabi Azad for making comments against Telangana region people and hurting their sentiments.
After withdrawing of Azad’s statements, we will consider going to New Delhi for discussions on Telangana issue, he made it clear.
Steering committee member D Sridhar Babu ruled out rumours of disunity among leaders and said all leaders are making united efforts for the T state.
He said that they have are no differences among themselves towards achieving separate statehood.
The meeting was attended by members from ZPTC, MPTC, MPs, Ministers, MLAs and MLCs. (INN)
