Hyderabad: At last, the Telangana Congress MLAs have changed their stand and attended the Assembly on Monday bowing to the pressure from the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, and the PCC Chief, Mr D Srinivas.
Fearing that the Telangana Congress MLAs may attend the Mock Assembly organized by the Telangana Journalists Forum (TJF), Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy and Mr D Srinivas convened a meeting at the CLP office here on Monday to convince the Telangana Congress MLAs to attend the ongoing Assembly session. Both the Chief Minister and PCC Chief have succeeded in convincing them and they said that the Telangana issue was in the hands of high command and it would announce a decision in an appropriate time.
According to sources, the PCC Chief pulled up the Telangana Congress MLAs for abstaining from the Assembly being ruling party members. He asked the MLAs as to what they have achieved by abstaining from the Assembly. He advised them to resolve the problems by talking to the Chief Minister. He also pulled up the MLAs on the ground that they would attend the Mock Assembly being ruling party members.
Speaking at the Assembly media point after the meeting with the Chief Minister and the PCC Chief, the Telangana Congress MLAs have said that they were attending the Assembly from today. They said that the Chief Minister and the PCC Chief have explained that they have the responsibility of endorsing the budget. A whip has been issued for the ensuing MLC elections from the Assembly constituency; they said and added that Mr Srinivas asked them to attend the Assembly. (NSS)
