Hyderabad, Feb.21 (NSS): Condemning police firing on the students, the Telangana Congress MLCs have urged the State government and the police to stop the provocative acts in the State.
They also appealed to the State government to cooperate with the Centre in the process of creation of separate Telangana.
Speaking at the Assembly media point on Monday, Mr K Yadava Reddy has questioned the Ministers hailing from the Telangana region as to why they feared in including the Telangana issue in the Governor’s speech. He said that it was not proper on the part of the government to convert the State into a police State. He also urged the State government to restore peace in the State.
Condemning the attack on the Lok Satta Party leader, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, on the Assembly premises, Mr Bhanu Prasad demanded that Dr JP tender an apology for talking against the MLAs who obstructed the Governor’s speech. He also said that he moved a privilege motion in the Council against Dr JP and added that it was unfortunate that Dr JP, who never spoke about the 400 students’ suicide for the sake of Telangana, was speaking about obstruction of Governor’s speech.
Finding fault with the TRS MLA, Mr K Taraka Rama Rao’s criticism against the Congress MLAs and MLCs, Mr Jagadeeshwar Reddy said that it was not proper for Mr KTR to talk lowering the dignity of the AICC president, Ms Sonia Gandhi. He said that every public representative, irrespective of political parties, was trying to achieve Telangana State. He also questioned as to why Mr KTR was not happy with the MLAs, who were working for the sake of Telangana of various parties.
Exuding confidence on the Congress high command, Mr Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said that it was unfortunate that the government did not include Telangana issue in the Governor’s address. (NSS)
