Hyderabad: Members of Telangana Congress Steering Committee on Saturday met in the house of the Rajya Sabha member, Dr K Keshava Rao, and decided to remain firm on their resignations. They also discussed about their future course of action.
Talking to the media later, the Nalgonda MP, Mr Gutha Sukhender Reddy, and the MLA, Mr Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy, have said the Congress leaders would pay homage to the martyrs in all district headquarters on August 9 and would go on fast on August 11 in protest against the Centre’s delay in scrapping of the controversial clause 14 (F) from the Presidential Order. He also said that they had decided to hoist Telangana flag along with the national tri-colour on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day.
Referring to the appeal of the former chief minister, Mr K Rosaiah, that all agitations should be postponed until the Congress president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, recovered from her illness, Mr Sukhender Reddy alleged that Mr Rosaiah was an obstacle to the Telangana movement.
