Telangana Flag to be unfurled on Independence Day: TCSC

Hyderabad: The Telangana Flag will fly alongside the Tricolour on August 15, Independence Day, in the Telangana region, the Telangana Congress Steering Committee decided on Saturday.

Congress MLA and spokesperson of the Steering Committee Gandra Venkataramana Reddy told media persons outside the residence of Congress Rajya Sabha member K Kesav Rao, that a weeklong chart of agitational programmes has been finalized during the today’s meeting.

Before revealing the details of the agitational programmes, the MLA expressed concern on the health of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and appealed the people of all faiths to pray for her early recovery.

Giving details about the agitational programmes, Mr Venkataramana Reddy stated that the Steering Committee has decided to mark Quit India day on August 9 throughout the region by organizing rallies and meetings and paying homage to freedom fighters who laid their lives for the country’s independence.

Agitational programmes would be organized in Hyderabad on August 11 to press the demand for deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Order.

Besides this, Independence Day will see the Telangana Flag being hoisted besides the National Flag.

The meeting was presided over by Mr Kesav Rao and was attended by MPs Ponnam Prabhakar Rao, Manda Jagandham, Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Komati Reddy Rajgopal Reddy and Balram Naik, Ministers Basavaraju Saraiah, K Jana Reddy, J Geeta Reddy, Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Ponnala Laksmaiah and other Legislators.(INN)
