Telangana JAC proposes general strike

Hyderabad: The Telangana JAC is thinking of calling a general strike in the region, to bring pressure on the government to declare its decision on the statehood issue.

Leaders of the JAC and TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhara Rao met in a hotel in Banjara Hills on Saturday and took several important decisions to intensify the Telangana movement.

Mr KCR said that the movement would be intensified from June 18. From July 10, several programs, including blocking of the highways was proposed, he said. He added that the people would cook and live on the roads in this phase of protest.

The meeting also decided to hold another big agitation like the Million March. It called upon the people not to allow people’s representatives, who were opposed to Telangana, into their villages.
