Hyderabad: Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Tuesday called upon people of region to make the general strike to be launched at Indira Park on Wednesday morning a grand success.
Talking to media persons at JAC Office at Adarshnagar, Prof Kodandaram said that the police have already given permission for the general strike. He said the general strike would start with a Maha Dharna at Indira Park. Prior to Maha Dharna, the Telangana activists would take out a rally from Sundaraiah Vignanan Kendram to Indira Park. He said the TPJAC would announce future course of Telanganan agitation in the Maha Dharna.
The TPJAC would also a take a decision on those elected representatives who did not submit their resignations for the cause of Telangana state. A decision on those ministers who participated in Cabinet meeting convened at the camp office of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday will also be taken at Maha Dharna.
Prof Kodandaram said that the TPJAC has directed the district JACs to convene a meeting on August 18-19 to discuss on successfully organizing the general strike in the districts. The district JACs have been directed to conduct awareness camps on August 20 among Telangana people to make the general strike a success at ground level. The JACs would also organize massive conventions in all Telangana distrcists on August 25 to discuss on the participation of employees in the general strike.
Prof Kodandaram asked the state government to scrap GO 177 which prevents employee’s participation in the agitation. (INN)
