Hyderabad: The Ministers belonging to the Telangana region will hoist the Telangana flag along with national flag tricolor on the Independence Day. This was decided by the Telangana Congress Steering Committee, which met at the residence of Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao here on Sunday morning.
The meeting discussed various matters including participation of the ministers in the official functions on the occasion of Independence Day. It was decided that the ministers should participate in the official functions and unfurl the national flags. Apart from this they should also hoist the flags of Telangana.
After the meeting talking to the reporters the spokesman of the steering committee G Sukhender Reddy said that they expected some indication by 17th September this year.
He said that there was no decision on attending the cabinet meeting and said that after passing of 15th August the present situation will resume.
Committee chairman and minister K Jana Reddy did not attend the meeting as he was away in Kerala for naturopathy treatment.
Sukhender Reddy said that though the legislators are ready to submit the resignation once again, but the final decision would be taken only after knowing the position of resignations of MPs and MLCs.
It may be mentioned that fearing boycott of the Independence celebrations by the Telangana Ministers the Chief Minister’s office had directed the collectors in Telangana districts to conduct Independence Day celebrations at the district headquarters, a responsibility normally carried out by ministers or legislators.
