Hyderabad, Feb.19 (NSS): On the third consecutive day on Saturday, the Secretariat employees of the Telangana region took out rally in the Secretariat as part of non-cooperation movement for the cause of Telangana Statehood.
The Secretariat Employees’ Telangana JAC was spearheading the non-cooperation movement since the past three days. Curiously, some Secretariat employees, belonging to Seemandhra region, also extended moral support to the agitation of their colleagues from Telangana region.
Extending support to the non-cooperation movement of Telangana employees, Mr Edukondalu of West Godavari district, who was working in the Department of School Education in the Secretariat, said that he was whole-heartedly supporting the agitation of Telangana employees for separate State. He felt that the development of the State remained paralyzed after the Telangana agitation was launched. He opined that separate Telangana State should be carved out as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of the region.
The Secretariat Employees’ Telangana JAC Chairman, Mr Narender Rao, said that the non-Telangana employees should also cooperate with the Telangana employees in their non-cooperation movement for separate State. Reminding that the students were sacrificing their precious lives for the cause of Telangana Statehood, he lamented that the ministers from Telangana region were enacting dramas to protect their posts. The Chief Minister should take an initiative and take steps to remove the uncertainty in the State as well as in the matter of formation of Telangana State, he said and urged the Centre to immediately place Telangana Bill in Parliament.
The secretary general, Mr Suresh Kumar, has alleged that the government was conspiring to dilute the Telangana movement with the arrests of the students who were actively participating in the agitation. He also strongly condemned the suspension of five MLAs of the region for seven days.
The Secretariat employees Telangana JAC leaders also expressed their grief at the sudden demise of the BJP leader Vanam Jhansi in a road accident. (NSS)
