Hyderabad: The government employees of the Telangana region, on Saturday, held protest in front of the Secretariat alleging that the security personnel misbehaved with their leaders.

The Special Protection Force personnel, who were guarding the Secretariat, did not permit leaders of some employees’ unions saying that the leaders had no invitation for talks with cabinet sub-committee. Reacting to it, the employees squatted on the road, demanding suspension of security officials, who misbehaved with their leaders. Mild tension prevailed at the Secretariat with the protest of the employees. The leaders of the employees’ unions announced that their unions were boycotting the talks.

The Minister for Textiles and Handlooms, Dr P. Shankar Rao, and the TRS floor leader, Mr Etela Rajender, also participated in the dharna in support of the employees. As a result, the vehicular traffic came to a standstill on the roads near the Secretariat. (NSS)
