Hyderabad: Mr. Kodali Ravi Kumar, State Secretary of the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) has demanded that all the conditions imposed by the government for sanction of fees reimbursement should be withdrawn and the dues be paid forthwith.
In a statement here on Friday, he said the government was trying to impose a series of conditions on the students with a view only to evade payment of the fees. Apart from caste certificate and income certificate, he said the government has recently imposed the condition that the students should have Adhar card to have the fees reimbursed. He said though the government was claiming that the Vigilance and Enforcement Welfare Committee was appointed for tackling malpractices, he has charged that the real intention was to reduce the number of beneficiaries. He said the BC and EBC students were put to difficulties as the government has imposed the condition that the MRO should give certificate only on a clearance from this Vigilance and Enforcement Welfare Committee.
He said it was unfortunate on the part of the government to impose these restrictions after it gave a written undertaking to the Supreme Court that all the fee of all the students would be reimbursed. He said as the government was not releasing funds, the college managements were harassing the students and subjecting them to mental torture. He has demanded that all the conditions be immediately withdrawn and funds be released.
