Hyderabad: The Telugu Nadu Upadhyaya Sangham president, Mr Navva Damaneswar Rao, and the secretary, Mr. Penikalapati Ajay Kumar, have clarified that the organization was not opposed to Telangana.
In a statement here on Wednesday, they said that TNUS would welcome any decision taken by the Union government on the basis of the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee report. They have called upon the cadres to be vigilant against those attempting to weaken the organization and the leadership.
They said that though the TNUS has joined the Telangana Teachers JAC executive as per the wishes of the local teachers, it was unfortunate that certain people said that some anti-socials were participating in the Telangana JAC activities.
They said that the organization which was founded in 1998 in Nalgonda has overcome several hurdles and by 2006 got strengthened with 17 district units. The organization has constructed its own building in Nalgonda and it would be inaugurated in June next, they added. They have also stated in a press release that plans were afoot to construct a State office in Hyderabad and district offices in Khammam and Mahbubnagar districts. They warned that stern action would be taken against those who were trying to weaken the organization in the Telangana region.
The two have appealed to the members to ensure victory of the candidates supported by the TNUS in the MLC elections from Teachers’ and Graduates’ constituencies and give preference to the candidates of UTF and STU as per the local situations. (NSS)
