Mahabubnagar: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti senior leader and Siddipet MLA, Mr T. Harish Rao, here on Wednesday warned the Telangana Congress legislators and MPs, who tendered resignations recently for the cause of Telangana State, that the people of the region would beat them with footwear if they dared to withdraw their resignations.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Mr Harish Rao took a serious exception to the remarks of the Union minister and AICC leader in charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Telangana issue. He alleged that Mr Azad was supporting the Seemandhra leaders for the reasons best known to him.

Another TRS leader and Sircilla MLA, Mr K. T. Ramarao, said the Congress high command was totally responsible for the present chaotic situation in the State.

Stating that political unrest in the State was great loss to both the regions, Mr Rama Rao demanded that the Congress and Telugu Desam parties declare their stand on Telangana issue immediately, otherwise, their silence on the burning issue amounts to cheating the people of the region.

The TRS supremo’s son also demanded that the Union government immediately dismiss Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad from the Union Cabinet for making irresponsible remarks on Telangana issue without knowing about the country’s Constitution. How can a minister, who does not know about the country’s Constitution, be allowed to continue in the Cabinet, he asked. He also asked Mr Azad as how Gujarat State was formed.
