Hyderabad, Feb.13 (NSS): Legislative Affairs minister Mr. D Sridhar Babu has said that the TRS hadn’t the numerical strength to move a no-confidence motion against the government.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said while any party that wanted to move a no-confidence motion needed 30 members in the Legislative Assembly, the TRS had only 11. When such was the reality, how the TRS could talk about moving such a motion, he asked. He said the party was talking about these matters only to gain publicity in the media.
The minister expressed confidence that the Congress-led UPA government would certainly concede Telangana. He said separate state would be possible only through political action and not sloganeering. He assured that all the Congress leaders from Telangana would bring pressure on the government on Telangana issue. “I am also a strong advocate of Telangana. I am fighting for the separate state sincerely. However, it is wrong to impede development for the sake of Telangana,” the minister said.
Stating that the Telangana issue was under the purview of the central government, he urged the state employees to realize this and allow the government to function. He said it was improper on the part of any one to try to stall the administration. He appealed to the opposition not to resort to non-cooperation.
On students’ fees reimbursement, he alleged that the opposition parties were trying to get political advantage out of the issue. He said funds for reimbursement would be released at the earliest.
The minister claimed that the recently concluded ‘Racha Banda’ programme was a big success. (NSS)
