Hyderabad: The Seemandhra Congress leaders have alleged that the TRS leaders were organizing the Telangana movement only with the aim of getting positions. They said that they would visit Delhi in July first week to urge the Congress Core Committee to maintain status-quo on Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Tuesday, the Primary Education Minister and Seemandhra Congress Leaders Forum Convener Dr. Sake Shailajanath has said that they would go to Delhi to urge the Centre to maintain present status of the State and announce the decision on Telangana issue as soon as possible. He said that they would meet the Party State Affairs In-charge Mr. Gulam Nabi Azad and other important leaders.
Minor Irrigation Minister Mr. T G Venkatesh has said that they would apprise the Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh of their version on United Andhra Pradesh before the TRS leaders launched movements demanding separate Telangana State. He said theirs was a single point argument and it was United Andhra Pradesh. He said that they asked for the appointment of the Prime Minister on July 5 or 6. He said that they would ask the Prime Minister to announce a decision on Telangana issue immediately.
Alleging that the TRS leaders were organizing the Telangana movement only for their positions, he said that no TRS leader had appeared at the birth anniversary celebrations of the former Prime Minister Mr. PV Narasimha Rao, who belonged to the Telangana region. He has urged the TRS not to scapegoat the State for their own selfish ends.
Law Minister Mr. Erasu Prathapa Reddy, MLC Mr. Rudra Raju Padmaraju and others were also present.
