Hyderabad: Making a fervent appeal to Telangana agitators not to resort to destroy statues of great personalities in future, the Telangana Telugu Desam Party Forum (TTDPF) has made it clear that it would boycott the ongoing Budget Session till its conclusion over the demand that the Centre introduce Telangana Bill in the ongoing Parliament session.

Speaking at the Assembly media point on Friday, the Telangana TDP MLAs, Mr Mothkupally Narasimhulu, Mr S Venugopalachari, Mr L Ramana, Ms Seethakka and others said that Telangana agitators might have felled the statues on Tank Bund under uncontrollable emotions.

Stating that the government was not responding on the Telangana issue even though over 600 students committed suicide, they said the government was trying to water down the movement. They also charged the government with adopting delay tactics instead of taking a decision on the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee report though it was submitted two months ago.

Condemning the attack on media during the Million March, they alleged that both the Centre and State governments have failed to prevent such attacks. They said that the government was bent upon crushing the movement by arresting lakhs of activists in the Telangana districts and by not allowing the Telangana MLAs to raise the issue in the Assembly.

They also clarified that they have no differences with the Forum convener, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy. They were all fighting unitedly for achievement of separate Telangana State, they added. (NSS)
